Zhou Aiguo, a cynic who never believed in love, storms out after fighting with his grandmother and is hit by a car — waking up in his grandfather's era as Zhou Zhaoyuan. He cannot return home, discovers Xu Shuzhen's bond with classmate Wang Wenxue, tries to stop their romance in his grandfather's name, and pursues Jingyi, the woman he loves.
Jingyi holds that love is too great to be judged by worldly standards; Zhou Aiguo, trapped in another man's life, learns again what it means to believe and to let go.
