A little regret,
and redemption.

Xiao Niao ("Little Bird") and Chen Xi lift each other between rooms and hallways: birds strain at cages, fish long for the sea, and folded cranes take flight as the two search for freedom inside and outside the window.

They test what counts as "normal" and where the line is, drawing close and pulling back in each other's shadows. At the edge of life, each chooses how to live toward death with courage.

"Birds break their cages, fish rush to sea; the sun crosses the horizon, and paper cranes take flight."
